Reimagined with an overland theme and executed under the direction of Porsche St. Louis shop foreman Kyle Marshall, this example blends factory-correct mechanical rehabilitation with purposeful upgrades for drivers who want their SUV to go far beyond the pavement.
The goal of the project was simple: return the vehicle to Porsche standards, and equip it for dependable exploration. The result is a V8 powered Cayenne that drives tight, feels renewed, and presents with the kind of detail you expect from a factory-backed effort. It also sounds amazing!!!!
Salzburg Red livery is a tribute to the 1970 Le Mans 24 hour race winning Porsche 917K.
Mechanical & Driveline Restoration
The powertrain and chassis received extensive attention to ensure reliability and performance:
Valve cover gaskets, crankcase hoses, and intake components replaced
Center driveshaft replaced
Major maintenance performed including spark plugs
Full inspection for cylinder wall scoring or internal damage during service
Front & rear differential fluid exchange plus transfer case service
Front and rear brake pads, rotors, sensors, and hardware replaced; cracked front brake lines renewed
Aftermarket battery replaced with correct new unit
Electrical & Lighting Rehabilitation
New headlight assemblies with jumper harness from body to lamps
New tail light assemblies
Instrument cluster screen repaired
Factory audio restored with PCM replacement and amplifier reintegration
Inoperative flood light repaired
Engine Bay & Authenticity Corrections
