Dealer Comments

This remarkable example of a 1982 Ferrari 512 BBi with only three previous owners, was originally purchased by Paolo Amir Praviz at AD AutoDiffVison SA in Geneve Switzerland. The original owner's name plate appears on the driver's door post.

In 1983 the car changed hands for the first time as it was purchased by John Young of Young Motors in Scottsdale, AZ for John R Stewart of Tulsa, OK where it was imported from Switzerland to the US via the gray market. In 1984, Young had the car transported to Beverly West Auto of Santa Monica, California for where it was Federalized including impact certification and odometer conversion from kilometers to miles. Later that same year, the car received its vehicle emissions test, which was subsequently approved.

In 1986 the vehicle was sold to Coachworks in Springfield, MO, before being sold to its last owner in 1988, who cherished it until it was recently traded in at Cavallino Rosso - the official Ferrari Dealer in St. Louis.

Since 1988 the vehicle was always stored in doors, and routinely maintained at Continental Ferrari. The engine out timing belt service was performed at Cavallino Rosso St. Louis in 2023, after being performed last in 2016, only 200 miles prior. The car is finished in Rosso Corsa over beige leather powered by a 4.9-liter F110A flat-12 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Amenities include air conditioning, a gated dogleg shifter, a Pioneer cassette stereo, a Pioneer graphic equalizer with vertical adjustments, and power windows.

The Ferrari 512 BBi is a classic Italian sports car that has been a favorite among collectors and enthusiasts since it was released in 1981. It's powered by a mid-mounted flat-twelve engine, which produces 340 horsepower and is capable of reaching speeds of up to 186 mph. This car is also highly sought after due to its rarity, as only 1007 fuel injected units were ever made. The cars were not officially offered in the US and were imported and federalized in-period via the gray market.
